What are they?

Warts are small growths caused by certain types of the human papillomavirus (HPV), and usually appear on the hands, feet, face or genital area. Why do they appear?

The causes of these skin lesions are diverse. Warts are caused by HPV infection, which enters through small cracks in the skin and generates accelerated cell growth. Factors such as low defenses, humidity or direct contact with contaminated surfaces increase the risk of their appearance.
Keratoses, especially actinic or seborrheic keratoses, appear due to accumulated damage from UV rays over the years, as well as natural aging of the skin and genetic predisposition. Fibroids tend to develop in areas where there is constant friction (clothing, necklaces, folds), as well as being influenced by hormonal and hereditary factors.
